Product Detail

Studio L Glassworks glass countertops emit an ultra high-end appearance with it’s eye-catching jewel toned beauty. Every piece of work is handmade by glass artisans making each countertop unique to it’s owner. Glass countertops are easy to maintain, eco-friendly, and absolutely gorgeous.

Strength & Durability

Through our kiln-firing process our countertops are extremely durable. Thick glass countertops, such as ours, are as strong as any common natural stone or man-made countertop material.

Maintenance

Studio L Glassworks countertops are considered a low maintenance material. Glass is a nonporous material and will not absorb dirt, dust, and other debris. Glass countertops are stain-proof and completely hygienic.

A damp cloth or sponge is sufficient for general cleaning. Mild, NON-ABRASIVE, surface cleaners can be used to clean tougher messes. We recommend standard glass cleaners or vinegar.

Installation

Installation depends on how complex your design is. Simple designs can be installed by the homeowner or contractor. More complex designs should be installed by a qualified professional used to working with heavy counters, such as a natural stone fabricator. Installation guidelines may vary. Please call 1-888-847-9056 or 319-553-2290 for installation questions.

Seams

At Studio L. Glassworks we can produce our textured glass countertops up to 5×8’ without a seam. Flat glass countertops can go up to 6×10’ with out a seam.

Seams are typically 1/8” and will be visible to the eye or touch. Every effort will be made to insure the seam is placed in the best location for structural integrity of the countertop and to make it aesthetically pleasing. A water-clear silicon is used to fill the glass joints.
Care

Heat

Though glass is very heat resistant, we don’t recommend putting hot pans or baking dishes directly on your glass countertop. Although
glass is able to resist very high temperatures, breakage could occur in certain circumstances.

Scratching

Through our kiln-firing process our glass countertops become difficult to damage but not impossible. Glass countertops can be scratched if treated improperly and should NOT be used as cutting boards! DO NOT drag unglazed pottery, metal, or glass across your glass countertop. Fortunately, with our many textures, the scratches will most likely be invisible to the eye. A wood cutting board or other protective surface is recommend when cutting anything on your counter.
